PREPARING FOR YOUR SUGARING APPOINTMENT

 

Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment with clean dry skin.

Please trim your hair if it is over 1/4” in length.

Do not apply lotions, oils, deodorant, or skin care products prior to your appointment.

 

48 Hours before:

         -Do not use a tanning bed with UV lights

         -Do not get a spray tan (you will get little orange dots where your open pores are)

         -Do not exfoliate with scrubs or chemical exfoliates

         -Avoid products with Glycolic Acids or Lactic Acids

 

***WE RECOMMEND SPEAKING WITH YOUR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER IF YOU ARE TAKING MEDICATIONS THAT CAUSE:

-THINNING OF THE SKIN

-PHOTO SENSITIVITY

 

 

Please inform us if you have any of the following:

 

         -Allergies and/or sensitivities that could affect your service

         -Experienced difficulty with any hair removal methods in the past

         -A new piercing in an area you are having sugared

         -Used a chemical peel within the last 6-9 weeks

         -Received any laser resurfacing in the last year

         -A sunburn in the area to be sugared

         -Used an cosmetics, lotions, skin care products containing Glycolic acids or lactic acids within the last 48 hours

 

 

SUGARING AFTERCARE

 

Wait 24 hours to:

         -Apply lotions, oils, soothing treatments, skincare products/treatments, exfoliates

         -Do sweat or friction causing activities (if you do, rinse with cool water before and after)

         -Swim/use commercial bathing facilities

 

Wait 48 hours to:

         -Use a tanning bed with UV lights

         -Spray tan

         -Exfoliate

 

Wear loose fitting breathable clothing. Keep the skin clean, cool, and clear of products, bacteria and friction during the first 24 hours following your appointment.

 

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

WHAT IS SUGARING?

-Sugaring/ sugar waxing is a method of hair removal. During the process, the sugaring paste sticks to and essentially removes hair without attaching to live skin. The sugaring paste can be applied at room temperature or heated to a lukewarm temperature, minimizing the risk of burns. For this reason, sugaring is usually preferred over waxing when it comes to hair removal.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

CAN YOU SUGAR EVERYWHERE?

-Yes, you can sugar the entire body, with the exception to: the scalp, beard, inner ears and inside the nostrils.

CAN MY HAIR BE TOO LONG?

Yes, we recommend trimming your hair prior to your appointment if your hair is longer than ¼”.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M LATE TO MY APPOINTMENT?

-We will do the best we can to perform a complete services if you are only a few minutes late. If you are more than 3-10 minutes late (depending on the services), we will need to reschedule for another time. Please call us to let us know.

DOES SUGARING HURT?

-Everyone’s tolerance level is different. The first appointment is usually the most painful. Once you are on a regular sugaring schedule, it will be easier, quicker, and less painful.

WHAT CAN I TAKE FOR PAIN?

-You can take over the counter pain relievers as directed. Topical numbing creams may also help reduce pain.

CAN I STILL BE SUGARED WHILE ON MY PERIOD?

-Yes. You must us a tampon or menstrual cup if you are getting a Brazilian or bikini. Many women are more sensitive to pain a few days before and during their period.

HOW LONG DOES MY HAIR HAVE TO BE?

We recommend waiting until your hair is about ¼”. Usually 4-6 weeks since your previous sugaring/waxing and 2 weeks since shaving.

HOW LONG DOES SUGARING LAST?

-Once you are on a regular sugaring schedule, you should only need to come in on a 4-6 week basis.

After the very first appointment, there will be a handful of hairs that surface within a few days. We offer a quick follow up appointment within 7-10 days to get these taken care of so you continue feeling fresh!
